I'm a mixed media artist specializing in acrylics, metallic paints, and heavy texture mediums on wood and canvas. I create 3D wall sculptures with layers of wood and my signature materials, including Canvas Glow and Wonder Leaves, which are hand sculpted leaves created with a raw canvas base that I apply several thin layers of compounds to get the material to a leather like consistency. I hand saw, sand, and texture all my creations from scratch.
I'm inspired by nature, trees, and the beauty all around me here in Colorado and the places I've visited around the world. My love of fairy tales, fables, adventurous movies, storytelling, and my travels influence the style and design of creations. My faith and the Bible are also a huge influence in my work and being connected to the creator brings endless inspiration and ideas.
I currently live and work in Castle Rock, CO. I have my own studio/business called the Dream Tree Studio where I create my work, teach art classes, teach workshops, and host special events throughout the year. I also participate in several art festivals throughout the year along the front range of Colorado.
A growing part of my business is commissioned work. I love to meet and dream with clients to create unique original paintings that help bring life, color, and solutions to their homes and work spaces.
