Texture and color fascinate me. Working with hand dyed silks has allowed me to explore my love for both of these artistic elements. My hand dyed silk scarves are each unique and original, featuring interesting textures with vivid colors. My “cyanotype” scarves incorporate my love for photography by using an antique photographic process in combination with shapes and forms from nature.
As a lifelong artist, I have explored a broad variety of media. Over the years I have worked as a muralist, a stencil artist, a photographer, a weaver and a printmaker. I was an art teacher for thirty years, working with students from first through twelfth grades. As an art educator, I had the opportunity to instruct students using many different art forms.
I am a longtime Colorado resident having lived in Evergreen since 1975. I enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains and see it reflected in my art work. When I’m not busy creating artwork, I spend my time hiking, gardening or curling up with a good book.
