My work in woodburning is rooted in the landscapes and spirit of Colorado. Using beetle kill pine as my canvas, I transform wood marked by nature's cycle of destruction into pieces that celebrate resilience and renewal. The blue stained grain, a result of the mountain pine beetle, tells a story of Colorado's forests - of struggle, adaptation, and beauty found in imperfection.
I carve images that reflect the rugged mountains, vast skies and wild essence of the west. Through my work I honor the raw beauty of Colorado, promote sustainability and create art that speaks to the enduring spirit of nature.
